What We Do

GUILDFORD TALKING NEWSPAPER

Since starting in 1976 the Guildford Talking Newspaper has delivered

“the written word in words”

to blind and visually impaired people in Guildford and the surrounding villages.

We are a charity (Reg 273964) run entirely by volunteers who record and distribute local news in audible format taken from The Surrey Advertiser and Guildford Dragon News.

In this digital age we have moved from tapes to memory sticks playable on what is known as a “boom box” supplied by the charity.  The machine is simple to use and works not unlike the old cassette player being able to move forward, back and pause.

If you have a relative or know someone with limited sight who could benefit from our service, please contact Brian Watts on 01483 800173 or email bjwatford@gmail.com
